Producing a power transformer requires repeated heavy moves between winding, core assembly, drying, tanking and test stations. Once bodies and active parts reach hundreds of tons, these moves become the riskiest and least flexible steps in the production plan.

Heavy-duty AGV platforms remove this flow's dependency on cranes and special transport operations. Load, floor and route are reviewed together; the vehicle configuration is defined per project, and transport becomes a repeatable, controlled production process.

Typical Applications

Body and active-part transport

Transformer bodies and winding-core assemblies move between stations on ultra-low platforms.

Synchronized dual-vehicle transport

In application examples up to 600 tons, two vehicles work in sync beneath a single load (manufacturer data).

Dry-type transformers

Dry-type units up to the 150-ton class relocate safely within the production area.

Switchgear and power equipment

Sensitive equipment such as high-voltage switch assemblies moves at controlled speed with careful manoeuvring.

Repeatable station-to-station flow

Transfers toward tanking and the test line are planned to match production takt.

Elements of Controlled Transport

  • The pickup and drop-off method — on-deck, under-rack or lifting — is defined per project
  • Route geometry, aisle and door clearances are verified against the loaded sweep envelope
  • Floor capacity and surface condition determine the vehicle and wheel arrangement
  • In-place rotation and lateral movement are configured for tight-space manoeuvring needs
  • Safety zones, speed limits and stopping distances follow the site risk assessment
