Heavy-duty AGV carrying a battery energy-storage (BESS) container inside a production facility — manufacturer application image

Battery Energy Storage (BESS)

Battery energy-storage cabinets and containers: heavy-load logistics from the production line to the test room and the yard.

In battery energy-storage (BESS) manufacturing, cabinets and containers change position many times — from module assembly and wiring to testing and spray-test stations, and on to the dispatch yard. Units weighing tens of tons expose both the enclosure and the modules inside to impact risk whenever they are moved by forklift or crane.

Heavy-duty AGV platforms turn this flow into a planned, repeatable production step: the cabinet travels between stations on a lifting flat platform, and with suitable configurations pallet-free handling, test-room passes and indoor-to-outdoor transfers become part of the same flow. Manufacturer application footage covers the 15–65 ton range.

Typical Applications

BESS cabinet and container transport

Cabinets and containers from 15 to 65 tons move across the production area on lifting flat-platform AGVs (manufacturer application footage).

Production-line and station transfer

Transfers between assembly, wiring and test stations are planned on routes that match the production takt.

Test-room and spray-room passes

With a suitable configuration the cabinet enters and leaves the spray-test and testing rooms on the AGV, without an intermediate set-down and pick-up.

Pallet-free handling

With suitable cabinet bases, 15-ton-class units are lifted and moved directly, without a pallet (manufacturer footage).

Container and outdoor transfer

Energy-storage containers move between the production building and the storage and dispatch yard on outdoor container transport vehicles.

High-protection-class platforms

On the relevant model, IP65 protection and omnidirectional movement support operation in wet test areas and narrow aisles (manufacturer data, model-specific).

Approach for Cabinet Logistics

  • Cabinet base, pallet or transport frame: the pickup method follows the cabinet design
  • Centre of gravity and module layout are assessed together with lifting points and platform load
  • Test-room doors, ramps and wet floors are verified against vehicle dimensions and protection class
  • Indoor-to-outdoor transitions are evaluated per project for floor, gradient and weather conditions
  • Safety zones, speed limits and in-line traffic rules are defined with the site risk assessment

Let's Discuss Your BESS Logistics

Cabinet or container dimensions and weight, your station flow, test-room passes and yard route are enough for a first review. Let's define the right platform and configuration together with manufacturer review.
