Heavy-duty AGV platform in a production hall

Heavy Industry & Manufacturing

From casting moulds and ladles to cylindrical equipment and energy-storage cabinets: the heavy loads of the production floor.

In foundries and heavy manufacturing plants, the most critical moves are often the least flexible: sand boxes, moulds, ladles and large equipment bodies stay tied to fixed crane routes and special transport operations.

Project-configured AGV platforms move these loads in a controlled way across the production area and suitable outdoor routes. Each example corresponds to a different vehicle family and configuration; no single standard vehicle is assumed.

Typical Applications

Casting mould and sand-box transport

Large moulds and sand boxes move on flat platforms, as in the 450-ton sand-box example (manufacturer data).

Ladles and molten-metal vessels

Loads such as aluminium ladles move with controlled manoeuvres — including in-place rotation — on outdoor AGVs.

Large cylindrical equipment

Boiler- and drum-class bodies travel on platforms with elevated beam fixtures, including doorway passages.

Energy-storage cabinets

Application footage from 15 to 65 tons shows in-plant transfers of BESS cabinets.

Production-floor and outdoor transitions

With suitable configurations, routes span indoor and outdoor areas once floor and protection conditions are verified.

A Configurable Transport Approach

  • The transfer method — direct deck, rack or special fixture — is evaluated separately for each load family
  • The examples in the videos belong to different vehicle families and are not generalized to one type
  • Centre of gravity and support points are calculated together with platform and wheel loads
  • On outdoor routes, ground, gradient, drainage and protection level are verified per project
  • Safety layers and traffic rules are defined together with the site risk assessment
